The transport of pharmaceuticals due to high responsibility of the manufacturer towards the end user is possibly the most difficult and most controlled area of goods transport. Medicines are transported at temperatures of +15°C +25°C, +2°C + 8°C and -20°C.
In addition, the regulations specially developed by the European Commission for the distribution of pharmaceuticals, "Good Distribution Practice of medicinal products for human use" (GDP), of 7 March 2013, prescribe a whole series of measures to ensure the safety of pharmaceuticals on their way from the manufacturer to the final recipient.
The mentioned measures include:
- requirements for the manufacturer with regard to the appropriate storage of the finished products
- requirements for the appropriate condition of the vehicles used for transport
- requirements for the continuity of the temperature chain
- requirements for the qualification of the staff
- mechanisms for constant monitoring of the product condition
- mechanisms for solving emergency situations
In addition, greater attention is paid to the preparation of transport and commercial documents in order to avoid delays in the transport of the goods.
